Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra
In July
1998, Jim McNeely was named permanent chief conductor of the Danish
Radio Jazz Orchestra, big band of the national radio station of Denmark.
The 20-piece band records works for broadcast, tours in Denmark and
Europe and has performed in the US and Canada.
Like McNeely, his predecessors, the late Thad Jones and Bob Brookmeyer, also held leadership associations with the band based at the Village Vanguard in New York.
