Big bands associations of Jim McNeely: Unlike the European radio orchestras, which are employed by radio stations, Stockholm Jazz Orchestra is principally a self-supporting organization with partial funding from the Swedish government. The 17-piece group performs in concert venues in Sweden, with occasional recording projects for radio broadcast. With the orchestra, McNeely has recorded two highly successful CDs, Jigsaw and Sound Bites. He maintains a close association as a composer and guest pianist with the Stockholm group. |
